What Types Of Heat Pumps Are There?

There are different types of heat pumps, depending on which energy source is used. One can distinguish between four primary heat pumps based on the three primary energy sources, earth, water, and air. Click here for emergency repairs of the heat pump.

    Brine-To-Water Heat Pump

With the brine-water heat pump, heat is obtained from the ground. The temperature here is around 10-16 ° C all year round. The energy is obtained via a probe. The brine, a non-toxic antifreeze, is located in these probes. The probes are laid at a depth of 40 to 150 meters to enable an optimal energy supply to the heat pump. The advantage: At such depths, the temperature remains almost constant all year round, enabling a balanced supply of heat even in the cold season. As a specialist in deep drilling, KDS offers you the right solution after assessing the nature of the soil.

    Water-To-Water Heat Pump

Well, drilling is necessary for water-to-water heat pumps because two separate wells are required. Water is fed to the pump via a delivery well. The heat pump then extracts the heat from the water supplied and transfers it to the heating water. The water that has been cooled down by heat extraction is then returned to the groundwater via a so-called injection well. The depth of the borehole depends primarily on the height of the groundwater level.

This form of energy generation is highly energy-efficient and delivers high yields all year round. The pump can also be used as a cooling system in summer, for example. Your experts will be happy to advise you on the possibilities, effort, and costs of good drilling.

    Air Water Heat Pump

An integrated fan draws in air from the outside and feeds it into the heat pump. Here the air is converted into usable energy, and the heat gained is further amplified. Air-to-water heat pumps also support the reverse process and thus act as a cooling system.

    Air-To-Air Heat Pump

Air-to-air heat pumps are only suitable for passive houses, as highly efficient living space ventilation is required. In this way, ventilation and heating are combined, whereby additional reheating is often necessary for the year’s colder months.

Which Type Of Heat Pump Is Best?

It isn’t easy to give a generally valid answer here, as many factors are choosing the right heat pump. However, if the building and property have suitable properties, the decision is often made favor brine-water or water-water heat pumps. The main reason for this is the almost constant energy supply to the heat pump, which is made possible by deep drilling.

Other types of heat pumps, on the other hand, are heavily dependent on the building structure and weather conditions which can be in good condition through installation and maintenance.
