    What Is The IBSAT Exam And How Difficult It Is?

    IBSAT stands for ‘ICFAI business school aptitude test’. This is an online management test that can be easily attempted in order to acquire admissions for MBA courses. The IBSAT exams are just as important as the CAT, XAT, and IIFT. The purpose of conducting and appearing for IBSAT is a ‘whisk-through’ to any of the ICFAI institutes situated across the country. The ICFAI is one of the leading business schools in India and offers various campus programs that include both full-time and distance learning programs. Being one of the largest private University groups in India, ICFAI has managed to make a relevant mark for itself in the education sector. The IBSAT exams are just as crucial as the other entrance exams for the admissions to the management courses across various institutes. However, the IBSAT is not all that scary as it is perceived to be. Let us take a closer look at what this online management exam is all about.

    What is IBSAT 2020 all about?

    There are nine ICFAI campuses located across India; namely, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Gurgaon, Dehradun, Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, and Kolkata. The IBSAT allows direct admissions to any of these ICFAI campuses once the aspirant qualifies through the required score threshold. Also, the other significant advantage is that on the basis of good scores, you could also get admissions to the part-time or the full-time PhD course that are offered at IBS, Hyderabad. The entrance exams for the IBSAT 2020 were held for two days across the nation on 21st and 22nd December 2020. These tests were conducted in 95 different centres sprawled across the country. The results for IBSAT 2020 were declared on the 26th of December 2020. Let us take a closer look at IBSAT 2020 and how has the current year treated it.

    IBSAT: Up, close and personal

    The difficulty level of IBSAT is an over-hyped phenomenon. This entrance test is attempted by the aspirants online, and the level of preparations is at the same level as that of the other entrance exams like CET, CAT, XAT, to name a few. The tests last of 2 hours and comprises of 5 different sections, namely:

    • Verbal Ability –       50 marks
    • Quantitative Techniques      –       30 marks
    • Reading comprehensions –        30 marks
    • Data interpretation & Data adequacy – 30 marks

    How to apply:

    The aspirants can apply for the IBSAT in two manners. You could purchase from any of the IBS marketing branches for INR 1800 or also apply online. For the online application, the IBSAT forms are available on the IBS website. Here, you will have to log in to your personal details and contact information. A confirmation link will be sent directly to your personal email ID. Now, you will have to pay online, and the Bulletin will be received within a week.

    How to Prepare:

    As mentioned earlier, there is nothing exclusive about IBSAT. This entrance exam is much like the other MBA exams, and you can also get some great practice through the six different mock exams available at the IBS website. There are a total of 140 questions that need to be attempted within a span of 2 hours. The best part about IBSAT is that there are no negative markings involved. The language of the exam is English, and the syllabus is Higher Secondary. Every correct answer is allotted one mark and no negative marking for the wrong ones. This way, you can attempt all the questions and also take the highest degree of risks for your guesswork.

    The IBSAT Results

    IBSAT 2020 results were out on the 26th of December 2019 and were also available online for viewing. The results can be checked by a particular aspirant through entering the Application Number and the password of that particular aspirant. The merit list and the IBSAT results are declared simultaneously, and the short-listed candidates are informed for the further selection procedure accordingly.

    The Final Selection

    The selection of the candidates is made based on the scores gained in CAT, GMAT, NMAT or IBSAT 2020. The call letter will be sent to the selected candidates for the counselling procedure. Accordingly, it is expected for the selected candidates to report at the said centres as per schedule. The next steps include the briefing, call for the group discussion and finally, the personal interview.
