Co-curricular activities are events that occur outside the classroom but which in some manner enhance or complement the education of the school. They are ungraded that provide no form of course credit, but they do include some complimentary education. Few examples of co-curricular activities are,

      • Quiz competitions
      • Drama productions and so on.

All these events take place outside the classroom and do not provide a grade or educational credit, but offer students with additional and reciprocal education and training. Inspiring students in extracurricular activities is significant because it creates skills of self-confidence and leadership. There are many strategies involving students to be part of such events, such as preparing a full form list of general knowledge related topics and conducting the quiz based on that.

Importance of co-curricular activities at school

Every activity in school career plays a critical role in student development. Co-Curriculum activities are mandatory activities that are essential for each student’s involvement. Co-curricular are constructed and adjusted with the curriculum to allow every student to learn outside of subjects.

Through various activities such as debates, recitation, students perform extracurricular activities in schools that enable them to deepen their communication skills, speech skills, presentation skills, involvement and feeling of connection. Art and craft and many events in the classroom such as group discussion reading etc. play a fundamental role in the growth of the student’s personality.

Students learn about cultural activities, like national events and formal events from various religions, such as Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Republic Day, Eid, Diwali, Raksha Bandhan, Onam, and several other cultural activities. Via books, and also co-curricular activities focused on various cultures coordinated by schools, students learn about all of these events.

    Mental & physical health

Co-curricular systems involve students to remain engaged by participation in school because, as part of the school curriculum, students have no choice to miss such programmes. Students must be active in co-curricular sports, such as athletics, gymnastics, yoga, indoor games, meditation, etc. These programmes are useful for the physical fitness and mental health of students and they will be released from academic stress.

    Group leadership qualities

School co-curricular activities are organized in teams such that students and their friends can interact. It improves student leadership qualities, integrity in teams and abilities in teamwork. It also helps students to learn academic subjects in a group, such as preparing a general full-form list and understanding its meaning.

    Experience of studying at school

Extracurricular programmes are ideal for improving the academic learning experience of students, increasing their school attendance and raising the involvement rates of students in co-curricular activities like participating in quiz competition in the inter or intra-school. Students have a very valid reason for an academic break also.

    Important ethical values

Students learn basic ethical principles about different cultures, religions, international and national events, and the values of learning and academic careers through co-curricular events. They are beginning to understand other religions, social ethics, values, patience, inspiring capacity, empathy, compatibility, and fulfilment.

    Conclusion

The benefit of extracurricular activities at education is that they will be part of education, making it fun for both teachers and students to learn. Students learn best via classroom activities such as quizzes, debates, transcriptions and more educational games. Co-Curriculum and academic activities, therefore, are essential for each student.
