SSCP vs. CISSP; Which Is Better

In this interconnected era, there is always a gap between the demand for cybersecurity and the number of skilled professionals – and in America alone, with more than 500,000 vacancies, it is surprising that 80.4% of IT professionals claim that the gap is widening. However, SSCP is often described as more practical and deals with the immediate response to new info-sec problems. All the same, CISSP is at the highest level, focusing on creating comprehensive security applications for large business networks. As the number of IT certifications seems to increase day by day, some in the field of information security are beginning to wonder if there are any particular benefits to obtaining joint certificates from this career in a particular order.

Who Are The Certifications Designed For?

The SSCP was designed for those looking to develop and test their core network security skills and now has a practical role to play in the field of information security. SSCP is the best certification for network security engineers, security managers and system technicians. The CISSP certification examis intended for leading information security advisors and analysts, security managers and security managers. Like an information security expert with leadership in security matters. However, more in-depth, it is believed that the CISSP certificate is planned for security professionals’ work on security management. On the other side, the SSCP fundamentally considered for those individuals who are supposed to advance and practice essential security abilities, and at this moment having a part on the way to show in the field.

Is SSCP Right For You?

For starters, there is an SSCP certificate for information systems review. It is a benchmark for reviewing information systems. Although the SSCP is generally recognized as a standard internal audit certificate, it lacks the thoroughness or knowledge required to verify data. The content and evaluation of the SSCP are managed by the non-profit organization. Ideal for security analysts – who are either in the field of information security auditing or want to audit in IT security. The certification exam is quite rigorous and requires five years of certification experience.

The content of the SSCP exam consists of a combination of security auditing, information technology operations, information technology management, and information security. The most important area of data protection is attributed to the SSCP test, which is another name for information security. Therefore, if your work is tested in a computer system environment, an SSCP certificate is recommended. This is because the accounting and auditing community clearly understands the SSCP designation and puts you in a situation where employers realize that you are a trusted person to audit these information systems. SSCP is relatively well known as a certificate for IT professionals in the field of security software development and the like.

SSCP Requirements

Candidates for this certificate have several opportunities to gain the necessary experience. Another possible option is that if candidates have no previous work experience or track, they will receive membership (ISC) 2 if they pass the SSCP certification exam and then have two years to get one year experience. Individuals must find and be certified by another certified Professional (ISC) – 2.

Is CISSP Right For You?

However, CISSP is a certificate focused on network security. It is made possible by (ISC) – 2, also a non-governmental organization. It differs in that it focuses on IT professionals dealing with information security. CISSP is a certificate that is ideal for you if your job is mainly technical system management, security solution design, information security management, network security management and so on. Although you can apply the knowledge gained in CISSP to the audit of information systems, the certificate does not cover the field of audit. To become a CISSP certificate, you must pass an exam and gain 5 years of experience in one of the eight CISSP areas. This is a very active community for CISSP red-dit where you can study and ask for help in preparing for the exam. There are currently more than 131,155 CISSP certified titles in 165 countries.

CISSP Requirements

CISSP requirements are stricter than the above certificates. Applicants for CISSP must have at least 5 years of paid work experience in at least two areas of knowledge about CISSP. Holders of a four-year university degree or another certificate (ISC) 2 approved from the list may be exempted from this requirement for one year of professional experience. Membership (ISC) 2 is also possible, in which case the applicant would have six years to complete the probationary period.

SSCP vs. CISSP – Final Verdict

Interestingly, ISC -2 also offers certificate called SSCP – represents a certified system security expert. However, the content of SCCP and CISSP overlap, with the latter being more focused on management positions, while the SSCP is focused on professional specialists. Perhaps there is a more accurate comparison between SSCPs and CISSPs, which target cybersecurity leaders and management roles. CISSP is broader, covers more areas and therefore requires more effort than SSCP.

Hard to say! It depends on your ability to learn, how much you already know, how much time you have and when you want to achieve something. SSCP requires less experience (1 year versus 5 years), fewer areas (one in seven compared to 2 and more), and areas are not the same. SSCP is “more practical, technical” in the field; CISSP is more abstract and process-oriented legal terminology.

If you have been in the IT/ Infosec field for a long time and are looking for or observing for a leadership role with a lot of talent and other resources, we will head straight to CISSP. Another option, especially if you don’t have enough experience but still aspire to leadership, is to choose a partner first, then exam, and then gain enough experience to become a CISSP. In practice, however, there are several human resources departments, chief organizers, and so on. When you filter by contact, you will probably have better employability if you keep the SSCP setting and re-enable/disable and format it.
